Beach London
For 10 years, we ran Beach London, a gallery in Shoreditch (and later above our client Camden Town Brewery’s Kentish Town pub, Camden’s Daughter). During this period we worked with both established and up-and-coming designers, artists and illustrators.
Our focus was always on creating really fun art-based experiences; we loved going to exhibitions socially, so we wanted to do shows that people could come to, enjoy a drink and really engage with. Alongside the great artists we worked with, we also curated fun and engaging group shows such as ‘Artcade’ - where artists created pieces inspired by vintage arcade machines, alongside the machines themselves; top scorers on the original cabinets would keep the artwork. Or ‘Cunning Folk’ - an exhibition of pieces from the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic’s collection - alongside versions made by artists: crystal balls, OUIJA boards and more. We even did a seance on the Ouija boards!
There are almost too many to mention, so here's a little archive of past show posters to give you a sense of what Beach London was all about...
